Where I stand
Your beach
Protect what makes Wasaga Beach special while making sure locals always come first. Year-round access, clean sands, and respectful visitors.
The beach is why the world knows our name. Fourteen kilometres of shoreline—and on a summer weekend, our town of approximately thirty thousand becomes a small city.
Tourism drives our economy. But it also brings traffic, pressure on infrastructure, and a tax base that doesn’t stay year-round.
We can’t rely on a seasonal economy to support a full-time community.
We need smarter planning—solutions that manage growth, reduce congestion, and support residents, not just visitors.
Because Wasaga Beach isn’t just a destination. It’s our home—and it’s time we start planning for it that way.
What I'll push for at council
- Protecting & Managing Our Beach Our beach is our greatest asset—but it needs to work for residents too. I’ll push for better traffic control, parking solutions, and enforcement so we can handle peak crowds without overwhelming our town.
- Ensuring the Beach Pays Its Way Tourism drives our economy, but residents shouldn’t carry the burden. I’ll advocate for smart financial planning so growth around the beach supports infrastructure, services, and long-term sustainability.
- Making the Beach Work Year-Round We can’t rely on a short summer season. I’ll support initiatives that extend the value of our waterfront—bringing more year-round activity, business, and opportunity to Wasaga Beach.
The beach is not a problem to be solved — it's the gift that gives this town its identity. But it deserves a council that treats residents as the host community, not as the people who live next door to the attraction.
